About

ABOUT ME...

My name is Suzanne, and I've started Restore Counselling Services after following my passion to become a professional counsellor, something I have thought about for a very long time. Over the last 30 years my working career has been within helping professions, for voluntary and public sectors, with both adults and children, mainly focusing on trauma and adverse childhood experiences. I wanted to use all this learning and experience to help you if you have been impacted by past experiences or situations to bring about positive change to your life and help you gain insight and power to take a happier and more positive life path.

Working with adults and children who have experienced a wide range of issues such as childhood trauma, neglectful parenting, domestic abuse, alcohol and drug addiction or sexual abuse, has helped me understand how destructive this exposure can be in many areas of your life and can impact significantly on your ability to feel happy and at ease. It can hinder positive relationships with others and cause destructive patterns you find bewildering and hard to escape from. I believe, with my training and experience I can offer you a space where support and safety can lead to understanding and enlightenment.

I have offered supervision to teams of workers by supporting their emotional wellbeing and resilience to manage complex work loads and the inevitable anxiety that can come with this. As part of my own counselling journey I have explored my own demons learning there are lots of different ways that can helped me gain control and improve my quality of life. I have become particularly interested in the impact of stress on the body and how to engage behaviour that promote resilience. I also volunteer for a number charities who support survivors of domestic abuse.  â€‹â€‹

MY SERVICES

Face to Face Counselling

My individual counselling sessions offer a confidential and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. I am a person centred counsellor but have knowledge of both psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapies and tailor my approach to meet your specific needs to help you get the most out of your sessions. My counselling space is welcoming and calm, to help you feel relaxed, comfortable and safe.

On-Line Counselling

On-line counselling offers the same support as face to face counselling but from a space that's comfort and convenient for you via a computer, phone or tablet. You will receive a calendar invitation to join the session for the agreed appointment time slot. This support is sometimes helpful when travelling to a venue is difficult.

1st Session

During our first session together we can work out what you hope to achieve from your counselling session and agree the best way to work together.

We can get a sense of each other and hopefully, I can put you at ease and help you feel comfortable moving forward.

Counselling is helpful because it offers a confidential, non-judgmental space to explore difficult feelings and life issues. It can lead to a better understanding of yourself, improved coping mechanisms, healthier relationships, and positive life changes. Talking with a trained, impartial counsellor provides tools and strategies to navigate challenges like stress, anxiety, grief, and relationship problems, ultimately boosting self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being.

Counselling can help you to understand where your thoughts and feelings come from, it can help you spot them and think about them in the moment so that you can manage them in a way that you want to, helping you to become the person you want to be. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
